Fear...

when we are face to face with a tiny spider, we always like to retell the tale to a friend...but! instead of saying there was a tiny spider in the bath, it changes to:
"OH, WOW! YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE THE SPIDER IN MY BATH TUB LAST NIGHT! IT WAS HUGE! IT WAS OF THE DEEPEST BLACK THAT REMINDED ME OF THE NIGHT...OF DEATH...AND ITS LEGS WERE SO HAIRY, I INSTANTLY HAD THE URGE TO GRAB THE RAZOR!...BUT ITS EYES! OH, IT HAD AT LEAST A DOZEN, AND ALL OF THEM RED, THAT STALK YOU, FOLLOWING YOUR EVERY MOVEMENT! IT WAS JUST SITTING THERE, WATCHING...WAITING...WAITING FOR THE RIGHT MOMENT TO POUNCE ON ME AND SUCK OUT MY INSIDES WITH A STRAW THAT IS WEDGED BETWEEN HIS ENORMOUS FANGS!"
I admit, a slight over exaggeration, but why do we exaggerate? (Quick Note: it is proven that males exaggerate more than females!) Fear. Fear compels us to magnify everything, but why do we let us be ruled by fear? why does Fear rule our everyday life, instead of us?
is it not the reason we cant sleep at night? but what is it we truly fear? What is the one thing that mankind detests?

The Common Thoughts Of Sequels...

The most common thought on sequels is that they are...BAD!!!they SUCK!!! they are no credit to the first movie, and i am afraid that "Pirates of The Carribean:Dead Man`s Chest" (POC2) has fallen into the trap of being one of the terrible sequels. The characters of Jack Sparrow...sorry, Captain Jack Sparrow and Ms. ELizabeth was disappointing. Even though Jack was a pirate, he still managed to help Turner and ELizabeth in the first with his manipulation, however, in the second all was just for his own good. That is the character of a pirate, but not JACK!!! also, the supposed love affair that was meant to be brewing between Jack and Elizabeth just seemed a little unreal. She was just ripe for the picking, knew so, and wanted to act out so. SILLY!!! no, i dont believe POC2 was as brilliant as the first. All characters were likeable in the first, yet in the second, Will Turner turned out to be the only attractive character, which is unfortunate because i quiet liked Jack Sparrow in the first.

But why are sequels so bad? yes, there are a few which meet the criteria of being brilliant, however the rest are just horrible. Perhaps it is because the characters have developed to a likeable stage in the first, and their images are just shattered by the second, which can be disappointing, or the director and script writer really had no clue as to what they were doing. anyway, a silly thought, but a thought none the less.
